Problem: Learning UX is hard because it’s a new(ish) field and there are so many different opinions, terms, and approaches. It’s hard for newcomers to get oriented and learn the basics.
Goal: Create a self-contained online course to help people interested UX – especially those wishing to enter the field.
Contribution: I’ve always enjoyed teaching (at SVA, Pratt, UCLA, General Assembly, etc…) and producing this course was a great way to help more knowledge-hungry students by putting my material on the huge education marketplace, Udemy.
Result: Almost 15K unique students learning UX, many achieving the goal of starting a career in the field. (That’s the best reward ever – hearing you helped someone get a job doing something they are interested in and enjoy.)
